Building Community
The commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers makes it possible for
AIDS Calgary to offer our wide range of programs and services.
AIDS Calgary has a base of 120 program volunteers and 450 special event
volunteers. Last year through our programs and workshops, our staff
and volunteers reached over 27,000 people and contributed
almost 29,000 hours of their time towards HIV/AIDS
awareness, education and prevention.
We believe that education, advocacy and volunteerism are key to creating
positive social change for HIV/AIDS. We offer an extensive training
program that is mandatory for all volunteers. Our training program will
help you understand HIV/AIDS, stigma and discrimination and prepare
you for the role of volunteer.
