HIV and the Older Person
AIDS Calgary believes that it is essential to recognize that all individuals,
regardless of age, can be affected by and infected with HIV. The older
Canadian has not traditionally been a focus of the work of AIDS Service
Organizations, but because a multitude of existing and emergent factors
make the older Canadian increasingly susceptible to HIV infection, it
is imperative that current HIV and AIDS education, support and treatment
programs be reassessed and redesigned specifically for this group.
