Developing
countries are calling for our support and assistance. As a community-based
organization in a privileged country, AIDS Calgary has an obligation
to
provide leadership and commitment. For example, we have endorsed the
Declaration of Commitment adopted by
the United Nations in June 2001 to guide a global response to HIV/AIDS
for the next decade. The following links will help you gain a better understanding of the global nature of HIV/AIDS, and why it is important to work together in reducing the harmful effects of this disease. Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) World Health Organization (WHO) Interagency Coalition on AIDS and Development (ICAD) International Council of AIDS Service Organizations (ICASO) Médécins Sans Frontières (MSF): Campaign for Access to Essential Medicines New Ecomonic Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) PLEASE NOTE: Every effort has been made to ensure that we do not link to sites that contain misleading information or offensive materials.
